Book Spine Poetry
What is Book Spine Poetry????
Well, you use the titles or words on the spines of books to create a poem. Stack them up so they make sense and you have Book Spine Poetry.

Examples of Book Spine Poetry
Your Book Spine Poetry Assignment:
~With your partner you will create a poem using 2-10 titles from the library.~
1. Talk with your partner about book titles you know. Discuss themes that the two of you may like. Please remember to listen to each other's ideas. Be open to try something new. Be cooperative with your partner. Make sure you share the responsibility of the assignment.
2. Next, at the designated time, talk to me about ideas and then peruse the library shelves for titles to use in your poem.
3. Stack your books, write your poem down.
4. Take a picture of your Book Spine Poem
5. Create a Glog (online poster) using your picture. This will be completed during Technology or other class time. You will be graded on your hard work and creativity.
6. You are finished! Share.
~After creating your poems, the best 4 poems will be entered into the 1st annual Book Spine Poetry Contest. On May 2nd, the poems will be judged by LCES K-4th graders during the Book Fair Carnival Preview Day.~
